Doggy is sick, needs help
A sick dog caught this adorable little girl’s attention when she visited the local shelter with her mother.
There were many dogs at the shelter, but for some reason, she noticed only one.
The doggie was sick, smelled terrible, and didn’t have a name, but the little girl couldn’t care less.
She pointed to the dog and said to her mother: “That one”!
She told her to let the dog out of the enclosure. Doggy is sick, needs help.
The dog panicked at first and wasn’t ready to go for a walk. Then the little girl took the leash and took her time. She gently and patiently led her outside. The dog followed.
Immediate bond
It turns out they had an instant and genuinely priceless connection. The dog immediately lost all fear around the little girl. They ran, and they played together at the back of the shelter. The dog wouldn’t leave her sight.
The little girl cleaned the dog’s runny nose with her dress. She told her mother again, “the doggy is sick,” needs help.
She just fell in love with the dog, giving her hugs, kisses, and belly rubs.
Despite the dog’s sickly appearance and bad smell, the little girl opened her heart to the dog.
They returned the dog to her kennel. The little girl refused to leave. She repeated, “the doggy is sick, needs help, go home.”
Happy endings
There was no other way than taking the doggy home!
They named the dog Scarlett, and since then, they never leave each other’s sight. Scarlett became the little girl’s staunch protector and best friend!
We are simply in love with this story. Children are so beautiful and intuitive. How come, this little girl choose Scarlett, out of all the dogs in the shelter?
She felt that the dog needed help and love. She didn’t care about the bad smell or the dog’s sickly appearance.
With opening her heart, she made a beautiful friendship that is truly one of a kind.
Adopting a dog
Can this story, Doggy Is Sick, inspire people? Inspire them to adopt?
There are many dogs just like Scarlett, their hearts filled with love, imprisoned in kennels all around the world.
Can this story make people re-think their decision about not getting a dog if they are not ready for that kind of responsibility? Or could adopting instead of buying be another way?
Dogs are one of the most beautiful things in our life. Adopting one is one of the most rewarding experiences.
It’s also filled with responsibility and care.
Adopting a dog means having a new family member. Somebody that will love you, just as much you love your children, brothers, sisters, and parents. You will be the world to that dog, and for most people, their dog will mean the world too.
