Fire Department Ready
The Santa Maria Fire Department is always ready to help people in distress. Their lines are open whenever someone needs their help, and the volunteers are on the go for possible rescue operations. In November last year, the rescuers responded to a call telling them that a small pooch got trapped inside a canal.
According to the rescuers, the call is a little bit strange. In the past, they helped several people, but this is the first time that they will be lending a hand to an animal, in this case, a dog. Nonetheless, the rescuers went to the location of the canal.
When they arrived, the rescuers immediately heard a tiny howl coming from the canal. The little pooch was desperate in getting help, so the rescuers immediately started their rescue operation.
While the little pooch is far from any danger, the canal was a bit steep, making it difficult for the pooch to move. Good thing, the fire department rescuers were brave and big enough to get near the pooch in that situation.
The rescuers understood that the water in the canal could pose a danger for the pooch because the dog was so tiny. They know that just one step, the dog would eventually drown. After a few moments, the dog was within reach of one of the rescuers. Luckily, the tiny pooch was very cooperative during the rescue operations.
In no time, the puppy got rescued and was declared safe by the rescuers. The rescuers then brought the pooch to a nearby clinic so that a veterinarian could check on him. The veterinarian said that aside from the apparent dehydration of the puppy, the dog is all good. The little pooch is under the custody of the fire department and will soon be surrendered to a local animal shelter.
